Appearances

Trish Geran is a native Las Vegan. She is the director of the award-winning film The Other Side of the Coin, a documentary about blacks in Las Vegas. She moved beyond the screen and placed within the pages of Beyond the Glimmering Lights: The Pride & Perseverance of African Americans in Las Vegas, the untold story of how the black residents and entertainers assisted greatly in giving Las Vegas its distinct flavor. She travels to various audiences to speak about her “hometown” and to inspire other writers.

Geran’s efforts as a community organizer and activist have been
recognized nationally by the NAACP and the Action Network Alliance. She has produced, written, and hosted community television programs in both California and Nevada.
